Jeanne is still is the ICU. She slept a little better last night, and while she has continued to be able to breath on her own, using the BiPap machine some, she is also getting more worn out. The pneumonia in her lungs has not spread and it seems like it might be getting a little bit better. Some of her blood counts are up a little as well. She is groggy most of the time, and is still not up for visitors to just drop by at this point, but we will keep you posted.

Jon, Josina and Josh have been rotating shifts to be in the ICU with her 24 hours, so sorry about not returning phone calls or emails. A big thank-you to all the neighbors who have brought us food to the house! If anyone is up for cooking some extra with your dinner and bringing it by the house for us to eat, that would be very much appreciated.

Jeanne moved to the ICU

Friday night Jeanne moved to the Intensive Care Unit as a precaution. She has been using a lot of energy breathing, and they are able to better monitor her condition in the ICU. With the more intense monitering they have been able to fine tune the settings on her BiPap machine, and she is weak but stable.

She was also moved because there is concern that the amount of energy she is using to breath is not sustainable. If she gets too tired to breath well before the the pneumonia is better, going on a ventilator will give her lungs and body a chance to rest while she continues to fight off the infection. The hope is that she won't need to go on a ventilator, and the better monitering in the ICU will help give the information needed for her to make that desicion before it becomes a crisis.
